In the period between 1920 and 1940, our company, which was then still known as Plateelbakkerij Schoonhoven, became famous for designs such as Corel and Largo . After 1945, the emphasis fell on the production of Delft earthenware. Today |
| Schoonhoven Keramiek today still produces Delftware for worldwide export. Since 1990 we have been working with a number of well-known artists, designers and young talent from the art academies. Working on commission for our customers, we also produce a wide range of beautiful reproductions of artworks as promotional gifts for different occasions. In addition, we also keep a stock of gifts in permanent supply. |

Production |
| The basic raw material for the production of the gifts is high-quality white-baking clay, which, depending on the design of the product, is either cast, turned or pressed in a mould. After shaping, drying and careful finishing, the clay is baked into a form known as a biscuit. The biscuit product is then provided with the chosen image. The ceramic object is decorated by means of a modern transfer technology (art reproduction) or by hand, or with a combination of the two. Once decorated, transparent enamel is applied to the product and it is once again baked at a temperature of 1000° C. After baking, the object, which now has a fine, smooth surface, is ready for shipping. All Schoonhoven Keramiek products are provided with a logo and a production year stamp, and an explanatory certificate is also enclosed in the package. |
